can you use yahoo instant messaging without internet on your computer? and can you use a wireless router on a pc windows98?

Yahoo instant messanger needs a internet connection to send IM's(instant messages) back and forth between two or more people. Any computer should be able to connect wireless, but you have to have a wireless card in your computer.
