Ok so it was storming earlier and I tried to shut down my computer while it was storming but it cut off in the middle of shutdown. So I turn it on but now every time I turn it on it opens up a Check Disk thing but it never finishes (It stops at stage 4 of 5 and loads up about 9000 files out of about 76000) and not only that it will not connect to the network I was on with the other computer in the house and I connected by a RJ 45 cable not wireless. So could somebody try and help me figure out what is happening. Oh also I am running Windows Vista Home Edition 64 bit I believe.

try to repair vista using installation cd.

let it finish! lmao. if its stuck, there is a reason. Let it run for an hour or so, if that dont work..
put it as slave in another machine and repair it. Or back up data and reinstall windows

Reply:Its possible that one of your devices have been damaged during the storm or lightning. If there are any circuits burnt, try sending it for repair or get it changed. Improper shutdown can damaged the hard disk also. And any connections with the telephone line, such as modem or router.
