How do i conect an external hardrive to my router?

i have a wireless belkin G+ router and i%26#039;d like to be able to conect an external hardrive to act as a network server is there a way i can do this?

i dont think theres anyway you can do this. There has to be a server software running on the hard-disk side. You get hard-disks with embedded ftp servers that can work like a network file server. I dont think a normal hard-disk can server the purpose. You can however connect the hard-disk to your computer and run a ftp-server on your computer that accesses this hard-disk

your external harddrive needs a ethernet addapter connection or wireless connectivity, as it needs to have an ip addy from the router so all devices can communicate together


once you have it connected your golden no problem
