Unable to "take control" on remote access?

The computer I am invited to help via remote access says %26quot;screen view only%26quot;.

I was able to take control until recently, no settings have been changed either on my PC or the other.

What can be done to fix this?

1. Any computer you want to connect to will need to have the correct settings set in Windows.

1a. In Windows XP, right click on %26quot;My Computer%26quot; and choose properties.

On the %26quot;Remote%26quot; tab, make sure %26quot;Allow users to connect remotely...%26quot; is checked.

1b. In Windows Vista, go to %26quot;Control Panel%26quot;, then go to %26quot;System %26amp; Maintenance%26quot;, then in the %26quot;System%26quot; section, choose %26quot;Allow Remote Access%26quot;.

On the %26quot;Remote%26quot; tab, make sure %26quot;Allow connections from computers...%26quot; is checked.

You must have at least one user account on the remote computer that has password. You will need to login with a username and password of an account on the remote computer.

Here%26#039;s a FAQ (with images) to further assist you if you still have problems with it: http://support.purenetworks.com/cgi-bin/...

Using this guide, along with Network Magic, this should get your remote access functioning properly. Hope this helps!
